CoD- V.1.4- Joy!
There are moments in life that are... epiphanic. Moments in which, faced by great and daunting tasks which should by all rights fill us with fear, panic, or self doubt; we find ourselves filled instead with a great sense of self-realization or actuality- even joy, at the knowledge or confirmation that in this moment, at this time, we are exactly where we should be- ready to face what may come. Young David might have had such a moment as he stood before the 10 foot giant. Michelangelo might have faced it as he looked up at the vast and starkly empty ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. The Unknown Rebel might also have experienced such a moment as he stood alone in defiance of an entire column of tanks on Beijing's Chang'an Boulevard near Tiananmen Square on June 5th, 1989 (I was 8 years old and I remember it!).
Yesterday, after much, much, muuuuuch waiting (to be fair, this is the time of year when everyone takes their vacation), I finally heard from Africa Inland Mission that I had been accepted into fellowship with them- and in possibly the closest approximation so far of such a perfect moment in my life- my joy was made full.
So the second step has been taken, but truely, this is only the second step in a journey of a thousand miles. I already have a huge checklist of things to do, from the difficult- raising support for the next two years; to the slightly easier- everything from buying tape recorders, multitools and a whole bunch of books, to medical and police tests; to the slightly unusual- writing my Last Will and Testament.
Interesting times ahead, and times for which I would greatly value your prayer.
The journey continues...

So proud of you, little bro! ;) I still feel like we need to celebrate in style....perhaps by going to...the airport!!
press on... the journey has just begun...
Boo, forget the airport! My sister wants me to take her to the airport just so she can ride the monorail from terminal to terminal- seriously, who does that? Ryan!
