CoD V. 1.5.1- The Journey Continues...

If you're part of my faithful legion of blog-followers (this is a small legion, I could count the legionaries on the fingers of one hand), and you read CoD V.1.5.0, you know that last weekend I was not doing the greatest. After investing most of my time, energy and hope through most of this last year into pursuing AIM's TIMO program, I heard on Friday that I might not be able to go because of the logistics of the situation. The news left me less than exhilarated.
If you read the comments on CoD V.1.5.0, you might have also figured that I soon recovered, and in fact was convicted by how easily I doubted God's plan. Citing the examples of such mighty giants of the faith as Abraham, Joseph and David, who were promised much and did not see the fulfilment of their promise right away, but who believed unwaveringly; I turned away from my anxiety and once more held on to the promise that God would work out His perfect will for my life.
At this time, I was encouraged by some of the writings of David:
"Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy,
for in you my soul takes refuge...
...I cry out to God Most High,
to God, who fulfills His purpose for me.
...My heart is steadfast O God,
my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and make music...
...I will awaken the dawn!"
(excerpts from Psalm 57)
Anyways. Yesterday evening I heard back from Sam, AIM Canada's Personnel Coordinator. This is what he wrote:
Hi Dan,
We have a final word from Rod. We will not place you as our fourth Canadian member on the Zaramo Team.
I trust you still feel that this is the Lord’s will for you as you now take this to the Lord again in prayer.
Blessings,
Sam
P.S. I’ll still call you later this week just to confirm how things are.

I read this email and my heart sank. What? I thought. Does this mean that just because there are three other Canadian members on the team, I can't go? Is that fair? And then the rest of my brain kicked in. Yet not my will, but Yours be done. There was nothing that I could have done differently, this is entirely in Your hands. I trust You, You know better. So I read the email again, shrugged, and figured God does know better. If TIMO is not to be, then He will provide the other way- He knows my heart's desire.
And then I happened to scroll down the email, and found Rod's email to Sam (Rod is the TIMO coordinator):

Hey Sam the Man,
Hope this finds you well. We have had "technical" problems out this way, so apologies for the tardy response. If Daniel can't make it onto *******(Treasure Island) and has no desire for North Africa, then absolutely, let's get him on the Zaramo team. As I said before, we don't want to lose this guy off of TIMO. Tim Tanner, the team leader for the Zaramo team has already expressed a desire to have Daniel on the team. Along with the National Team Member, that will give us four single men on the team... now if we can only help them to communicate with the six single women on the ******** team! (a team to another closed muslim nation, far away from Tanzania).
Seriously, let's plan on Daniel for Zaramo, and we will be thrilled to have him.

In the joy of Jesus,
Rod.

So it turned out the first email had a typo. The 'not' should have read 'now' (It's all been cleared up not! Err, I mean, now!). God was greater far than I could imagine- He saved the day, my Glorious.
And then the Psalms spoke to my heart again:
"Shout with joy to God, all the earth!
Sing to the glory of His name;
make his praise glorious!
Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds!
...Come and see what God has done,
how awesome his works in man's (dan's) behalf!
He turned the sea into dry land,
they passed through the waters on foot-
come, let us rejoice in Him.
He rules forever by His power...
Praise our God, O peoples,
let the sound of His praise be heard;
He has preserved our lives
and kept our feet from slipping.
For you, O God, tested us;
you refined us like silver.
You brought us into prison
and laid burdens on our backs...
...we went through fire and water,
but you brought us to a place of abundance.
...Come and listen, all you who fear God:
let me tell you what he has done for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth;
His praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart,
The Lord would not have listened;
but God has surely listened
and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God,
who has not rejected my prayer
or withheld His love from me!"
(From Psalm 66).
So this is very preliminary, I will post again with more details, but I just wanted you to join with me in praising our awesome God, who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases, who redeems our life from the pit and crowns us with love and compassion, who satisfies our desires with good things so that our youth is renewed like the eagle's. Our LORD who works righteousness and justice for all, and who makes our joy complete!
