CoD V.1.4.2- The Checklist-
Let me begin by apologising for the glut of posts all of a sudden after a month of silence. They'll peter out into a more steady stream soon, I'm sure.
As I mentioned in a previous post, in preparation for departure (which is still several months away, don't worry), I've been given an extensive checklist of things to do. Some of the things, like writing support letters and begin raising support, I am very daunted by; but thankfully, until my assignment is confirmed (I find out for sure where I'm going- that determines ammounts) I don't yet have to get started on. However, there are others that I have no good reason to procrastinate on, so I thought I'd get started on them:
One of the first items on my checklist was the procurement of a dozen photographs of myself. According to AIM Outbound (the site that helps me get organized and prepared), these photographs, required for a variety of different reasons, were to be 50 x 70 cms.
Now, 50 x 70 cms is roughly 1.6 x 2.3 feet. You may wonder, as I did, why AIM would need poster-sized mugs of all their appointees. Maybe they planned on redecorating their office. However, alas, when I checked, it turned out that this was a misprint, the measurement should have read millimeters, and the world shall once again be deprived of a dozen poster-sized close-ups of me, more's the pity.
Next I had to ensure that my passport was in order. I have no amusing stories about my passport- what is this world coming to?
Lastly for today, I filled up yet another medical evaluation questionnaire- it appears to be very important to confirm that I do not suffer from psoriasis or any other contagions or pestilences; and that I am completely devoid of voices in my head, friends that cannot be seen by others, or a tendency to identify myself with Napoleon Bonaparte. Or at the very least that I would not admit to such things...
More will be posted as i continue with the list.
