CoD V.1.5.4- Prayer Needed!
I reveived a letter a little while ago from Chuck Pinkerton - AIM's Regional Coordinator for Ontario - in which he forwarded me a letter from Tim and Emily Tanner, the team leaders for the Zaramo team leaving early next year. The letter reads:
Dear Family & Friends,
We need your prayer...
Today Tim arrived at the offices of the government District Commissioner. He expected to receive a letter from the DC welcoming more missionaries to join us in Mzenga for our TIMO team in 2007. He has received such approvals from every level of government thus far = from the equivalent of all village authorities to the regional "state" governor. Instead he was interrogatedby the DC for 45 minutes.
The gist of it essentially was that since we have not built a mission center/station out there she sees us as accomplishing nothing in her eyes and sees no point in bringing more missionaries out. Therefore, she said she would investigate the validity of our ministry and get back to us in the time of her choosing. She is an important government authority and her agreement to welcome our team there is crucial to moving forward in all our preparations for the team.
Please pray that we will honor God in all our dealings with this official and that the Lord would make her favorable to welcome out team to Mzenga. She is a proud mxslxm and this is the holiest time of year for her which may explain some of her reaction. Pray that the Lord would break down any spiritual strongholds in this matter. Pray for God to give us and our mission leaders patience, wisdom and discernment as we follow up on these matters.
For His Glory,
Tim & Emily Tanner.
Well, after the down and up of CoD 1.5.0, and 1.5.1 (man, I love this filing system I created, it makes it soooo easy to reference previous posts!), I have not a shadow of a doubt that God will work this out (Matt 19:26- Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."), and it'll be fantastic to see how He does it; but until then, I would greatly appreciate your prayers for this situation. Only God can change hearts: please pray for this lady's heart, and pray that her life may be changed by the Tanner's witness.
Thanks again!
